West Hatch VE Day Celebration – 8th May 2025

Order of events for VE Day

8th May afternoon from 3pm – Bonfire is set up/tape around the Beacon

All who can help please come along. Old newspapers are welcome and useful. We will be purchasing untainted wood from Weavos. Douglas will use his trailer to ferry items to the field in Griffin Lane.

West Hatch VE Day Celebration – 8th May

7.15 pm Parking in the Church Field.

7.30 pm – Fish and Chips in the Village Hall.

8.30 pm – move to the top of Griffin Lane.

9.00 pm – Music round the unlit Beacon Bonfire.

9.15 pm – Readings from our young people.

9.20 pm – Address by Keith Read Chair of the Parish Council.

9.25 pm – Lighting of the Peace Lamps.

9.30 pm – Beacon is lit – more music and reflection.
