Vacancy: West Hatch Parish Council

What your Parish Council does:

  • Represents you – the council is your local democratic voice.
  • Looks after the parish – footpaths, noticeboards, and small-scale maintenance.
  • Influences planning – comments on planning applications to protect the parish’s character.
  • Raises funds – sets the parish precept (part of council tax) to pay for local services.
  • Supports community life – liaises with groups and applies for grants.
  • Works with others – partners with Somerset Council, police, and voluntary organisations

West Hatch Parish Council has a vacancy for a Councillor (voluntary). You will be responsible for supporting fellow councillors in delivering local projects and initiatives and helping to ensure that the council meets its statutory obligations. The council meets six times per year (evenings) plus occasional site visits within the parish. Training and support provided.

If you live within the Parish of West Hatch and are interested in getting involved in the community, we’d love to hear from you.
