Hogweed – See it, Cut it, Contain it!

It’s noticeable that the hogweed seems to love the present local climate and is proliferating rapidly on the verges and in-field, which is not so good. It’s an invasive and potentially toxic weed so these areas will benefit if people can be opportunistic and cut the stems at the base early in the season as they see them growing,  in order to weaken the plants.  Wear gloves and long sleeves though as the sap causes skin irritation and add them to your bonfire if possible.
